Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • Supplementary Files: Please also submit supplementary files along with your manuscript

Author Guideline

NJEHNS requests all the author to submit their manuscript via online submission from its website. We will not accept any submission via email.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR REVIEWERS

Nepalese Journal of ENT  Head & Neck Surgery, recognizes its reviewers as the benchmark for assessing the quality and the importance of the manuscript submitted. The expert reviewer evaluation is of great value and characterizes the manuscript we publish.

Blind peer review

NJEHNS uses double blinded peer review system, which indicates that both the reviewer and the author are blinded to each other during the process.

Manuscripts sent for peer review

  • Original Articles and Systematic Reviews/Meta-analyses will typically be sent to at least 2 peer reviewers.
  • Case reports, Medical Education, Viewpoints will be sent to at least 1 peer reviewer.
  • However, it remains the discretion of the editorial board, that it may be send to more reviewers upon conditions that manuscript requires more evaluations.

 Reviewer invitation process

NJEHNS will email peer reviewers to invite them to review a manuscript. The email will generally include an abstract of the manuscript and ask you to accept or reject the review invitation. The reviewer can also have a detail view of the entire manuscript after acceptance of the review process.

Role of peer reviewers

We ask peer reviewers to recommend following options:

  1. Accept Submission
  2. Revision required
  3. Resubmit elsewhere
  4. Resubmit for review
  5. Decline submission
  6. See comments (in case none of above fits)

In the case of discordant reviews, the Editorial Office may seek review by an additional expert. Our Editors-in-Chief will consider reviewers’ comments and will make the final decision to accept or reject a manuscript.

All manuscripts are confidential documents. If you want to discuss a manuscript that you are reviewing with a colleague, please email the Editorial Office first at editor@njehns.org.np
